I am a working mom whose daytime writing-related gigs include marketing emails, ghostwriting for my boss, and teaching an editing class for staff at the University of Washington. Although I've tried my hand at fiction before, I didn't become interested in writing stories for kids until I began honing those skills telling bedtime stories to my son. 
 
As a kid, I read constantly – even while brushing my teeth or walking down the stairs – and decades later I still think about books that rocked my world, broke my heart, or completely obsessed me (Watership Down, Bridge to Terabithia, The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Six More, just to name a few). Knowing how much reading and books meant to me as a kid, writing for kids feels like coming full circle.
